12/6/2015 - Update

I have the first coat of paint on everything.
These were the last parts to recieve the first coat of paint.
I now have to wait 48 hours before i can put a second coat on everything.
A few parts will require a third and possibly a fourth coat. I should be doing assembly in 6-10 days!

12-4-2015 update

I am in the home stretches before assembly.
I am spraying the last copper today. You can see the parts in the pictures.
I spent a ton of time sanding and filling on this and it could still use more. It's pretty good now and I want to move onto another project soon.
You can see the parts waiting for the last sanding pass.

12/1/2015 - Update

I am painting primer the next few days. I noticed a few parts had some imperfections that will require some filler to fix. This will require one extra sanding and primer pass before i can put color on them.
Unfortunately there isn't much to show at the moment.

11-28-2015 Update

The speaker grill test worked. they are both printed, assembled and waiting for a warmer day for me to paint copper.

I am in the last legs of sanding, every part is ready for what i hope to be the final primer coat before i spray color.

11/22/2015 update

I have been sanding endlessly, while doing that I had an idea for a way to construct my speaker grills that I am testing now. Basically I printed a frame for the speaker grill and then my idea is to soak the bottom of the grill in acetone to start to dissolve the ABS. I will then press the grill material into the abs while the ABS is soft. After it hardens I will trim the metal mesh around the frame, sand any sharp edges and ready it for paint.

11/11/2015 update

Sorry I have taken so long to update. I have shifted to adding detail to make this more like a scale model. I have been prepping lots of parts for paint, testing colors etc.
Here are a couple pictures.

I will get some of the parts with primer applied as well as body filler. Paint prep is a lot more work than I wanted it to be.

10/14/2015 update

i have redesigned and reprinted the caps. I have also test fit the motion sensor and it fits!!
It's on to paint prep and schematic documentation.
